ABOUT

Welcome to Pine Street Flowers! We're a tiny backyard flower farm in Lancaster, PA growing fresh, seasonal blooms with a whole lot of love. "We" means our family. I'm Lillian. John is my husband (and does a lot of the grunt work!) and Mia, Nick and Ben are my helpers who will probably pick a lot of flowers for you over the summer. (Okay, Ben won't likely pick the flowers, he's just a baby this year!)

In the summer of 2014, we worked on a project/experiment of turning part of our backyard into a mini flower farm instead of waiting for the "perfect" time to do it.  In 2015 I was pregnant with Ben and sick 24/7 and we decided to sell our house and move into a new house right after he was born, so flowers and gardening just didn't happen.  Now it's 2016 and we're in a new house with a new yard and excited to see where this project goes in our new location.

Once they start growing this summer, you can get your hands on some of our flowers at a little stand in front of our house when there are enough to put out.  In 2014 we did a CSA that was incredibly fun(you can see a ton of the blooms here), but with a baby and new location, I don't want the stress of needing a certain number of blooms on certain days all summer.

When you come over, it will be to our home and backyard.  We won't pretend to have any illusion of perfection happening.  We live in the suburbs, not in the country, and we love our little community and neighbors a whole lot.  That's why we decided to move 3 houses down the street, you'll be able to see our old house and garden from our new backyard.  There will definitely be toys thrown around somewhere in the yard. I promise to wash the dishes, but there's a good chance that there's a pile of laundry hiding somewhere in the house! There might be kids running, so feel free to bring yours along as well. Make sure that you put them in old clothes because they'll probably get dirty. Don't feel like you need to dress up, we're not fancy here. I'll apologize now for the likely dirt on my kitchen floor from dirty feet that were playing outside all morning.

I deeply believe that our feet need to feel the grass and that digging in the dirt is doing as much good for me and my family as it is for you to have lovely flowers in your home to make you smile.  If you're here, I'm guessing that you feel the same way, along with having a heart a million miles wide that matches your kindness and desire to simplify your life a bit and your love for a good thrifted treasure.

Truly, Welcome.  We're so glad you're here and so glad to be sharing our flower growing adventures with you!
